If you have an iPhone 5s or 6/6 Plus with a broken screen, camera, or buttons, Apple will buy it back from you starting this week, according to Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac.
Previously, Apple and its buyback program partner, Brightstar, would only give you money for your old iPhone if it was in good condition. That means it needed to power on normally, only showed "normal wear and tear," the buttons worked, screen was in tact, and was free from liquid damage.
According to 9to5Mac's sources, you could get $50 for your old and partly broken iPhone 5s, $200 for an iPhone 6, and $250 for an iPhone 6 Plus under the new buyback program.
If those numbers are true, Apple's new buyback program for old iPhones with broken parts could offer you more money than competing trade-in sites.
The same report also mentions Apple will start applying screen protectors for your iPhone inside Apple Stores with special machines from partners like Belkin.
