The Game of Thrones/Hunger Games Crossover You Weren’t Expecting

Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin meet and fall in love, and no one is executed in the process, in Me Before You.
IF you introduced Finnick Odair of The Hunger Games to Daenerys Targaryen ofGame of Thrones to one another, and sparks did somehow fly, they’d likely also be followed by dragon fire or a thrown trident—two battle-worn hotheads who wouldn’t dare let the other see them vulnerable. But freed from the franchises and hit shows that made them famous, Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin are going to give love a chance anyway, in the summer rom-com/weepie Me Before You, which just debuted this warm blanket of a trailer.
Ditching the Khaleesi wig and donning a whole lot of patterns and chunky sweaters, Clarke seems to be doing her best manic pixie dream girl as Louisa, a woman with an aimless career who takes on a job as caregiver to a disabled man (Claflin). As he points out early on, it’s his body that’s disabled, not his mind, so there are no inappropriate overtones when the two, inevitably, start falling in love.
For the Game of Thrones fans who are intrigued but not quite sold, the cast also includesCharles Dance, a.k.a the dearly departed Tywin Lannister, so you can see it as a reunion of sorts. Just with a lot more flower prints and romantic glances, and way fewer executions. We hope0 .
